Development
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations serves as a vital link between Choate Rosemary Hall and its alumni, parents, and friends. In addition to Reunion Weekend in the spring and Fall Weekend on campus, the office sponsors events in cities throughout the country and in Europe and Asia. Please check our Events Calendar for upcoming events.
Fundraising at Choate is based on a philosophy of information, education, and involvement by constituents. Why is fundraising important? Tuition revenues account for just over 55 percent of the school’s annual operating budget. Gifts to the Annual Fund from alumni, parents, and friends of the school provide another 10 percent.
Exactly what is endowment?
It is a stable, philanthropic investment that yields secure, significant annual returns.
Because the economy and individual private giving to an institution tend to fluctuate, endowed funds guarantee a school’s economic future.
Choate, like its peer schools and major colleges and universities, relies on its endowment as a key source of funds used to balance the budget and keep tuition affordable. Our endowment as of June 30, 2007, is $267 million.
Whether you support Choate through the Annual Fund, a major gift, or one of the many Planned Giving options that are available, your gift matters. Please consider making a gift to the school today.
