The Completed Application

In order for an application to be reviewed and evaluated by the Admission Committee, it must be considered complete.  Please review the Application Materials.

Financial Aid Forms

If you indicate on the Pre-Interview Information Form that your family would like to receive information regarding financial aid at Choate, we will send you a packet of information which highlights the financial aid program and outlines the process for applying.

The Parents' Financial Statement (PFS), one required component of a financial aid application, may be completed online.

The PFS should be submitted directly to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) by January 10.  Signed copies of the family's current year's federal tax returns and corresponding W-2 Forms (or equivalent) are due to the Choate Financial Aid Office by February 1.

Notification

Applicants who complete their application by the January 10 deadline will be notified by mail on March 10.  While we do our best to render decisions on all completed applications in a timely fashion after the deadline, we cannot guarantee a decision on March 10 for applications received after January 10.

Applications completed past the deadline are considered on a rolling basis beginning April 15 and are dependent upon two factors:

  • Applicant qualifications, and
  • Availability of space.

Accepted Applicants Invited to Campus

Student Activities Center

Accepted applicants may have more than one school to choose from and may wish to spend more time in the Choate community before making a final decision. Choate offers a “Second Visit” program, which is designed to show both boarders and day students what it’s really like to be a student at Choate Rosemary Hall.
