On Friday, May 4, Peter Yarrow of the folk group, Peter, Paul & Mary, met with students in three classes, Music of the 1960s, Road Trip! and Post-Modernism, in the Paul Mellon Arts Center Recital Hall. Yarrow spoke to students about his life of social and political advocacy through music and his current involvement with Operation Respect.

2012 Charles Krause '51 Fellow in Rhetoric, Author and Journalist Isabel Wilkerson

Isabel Wilkerson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of The New York Times’ bestseller, The Warmth of Other Suns, spoke to students and faculty on Tuesday, April 10. Her book won the 2010 National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction. It tells the story of the massive demographic shift that occurred between 1915 and 1970 when more than 6 million African-Americans moved out of the South to cities across the Northeast, Midwest and West.
