Sarah Nutting
Assistant Director of Athletics
Sarah Nutting knows the Choate Rosemary Hall campus very well. An admissions officer since 2001, she also attended Choate graduating with distinction in 1995. While at Choate, she struck fear into the hearts of her opponents on the field hockey pitch, the ice hockey rink, and the lacrosse field. In her senior year she was awarded the athletic department’s highest prize, the Charles W. Kennerly award.
After Choate she took her wealth of talent to the ivy leagues playing ice hockey and lacrosse for Dartmouth. Sarah describes these years as some of the best in her life and eye opening into how important Choate was into making her the person she is today. After graduating in 1999 she attempted big city living in Boston, MA while working for an internet start-up. That career was short lived as she quickly realized how much she missed athletics and the boarding school atmosphere.
After only a few months at Choate, Sarah knew she had found her calling. She was coaching her two favorite sports, connecting with young motivated students, and interacting with some of the best faculty in the country. Her life became truly complete when she married English teacher and lacrosse expert Trent Nutting.
As Assistant Director of Athletics her main duties center on the scheduling of interscholastic sports and keeping tabs on the sports information department, she also works as the admissions liaison for girls’ sports. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors with her baby and husband and playing with their two dogs, Gus and Dillon.
