Endowment & Special Projects

For those alumni, parents and friends who wish to make an endowed gift to enrich Choate Rosemary Hall as a powerfully inclusive learning community, we invite you to explore specific giving opportunities listed below.

Scholarship Funds

Choate’s commitment to financial aid is enduring and its investment significant. More than a third of all Choate students receive financial aid, and they hail from families that represent nearly all aspect of the adjusted gross income spectrum. Choate now spends more than $11 million each year on financial aid.

Endowing a scholarship helps ensure that our School won’t ever have to choose between admitting the best students and providing the best education. The most effective way to secure our commitment to meeting students’ growing financial needs — and to secure Choate's position among the best schools in the world — is through gifts of endowment to the financial aid program. Such gifts ensure that we have the resources to create a community of enormously talented, widely representative young people whose ultimate impact on society is incalculable.

Beyond the Classroom Fund

Choate’s mission involves the education of the whole person. The School recognizes and values that a Choate education extends beyond the classroom, to include valuable opportunities that enhance a student's academic, athletic, and extracurricular experiences.

Unfortunately, many times these opportunities include additional expenses that may create a financial burden for families.

Recognizing the importance of such involvement, the School has established a group of endowed funds to provide resources to help defray the cost of travel, team apparel, even tickets to Last Hurrah. All students whose families cannot afford costs beyond tuition are invited to apply for Beyond the Classroom grants.

Faculty Fellowship Funds

Fellowship Funds provide faculty members at Choate with the necessary time and resources to research, consult, and travel to improve the caliber and content of their teaching. Funds of this nature help Choate reward distinguished service and classroom dedication for those rare, talented individuals who have devoted their lives to teaching tomorrow’s leaders.

These Funds will serve as powerful tools on many fronts – underwriting some of the most critical academic initiatives at the School and ensuring Choate’s position in the vanguard of education by providing much needed financial support for its faculty.
