At the 28th Annual Wallingford Rotary Club Award Ceremony held at Il Monticito on June 3, 2015, six high school juniors were chosen as this year's High School Citizens of the Year - two students from each of the town's high schools — Sheehan, Lyman Hall and Choate Rosemary Hall.

On May 5, 1962, Poet Laureate Robert Frost visited The Choate School to speak at the dedication of the new wing of the Andrew Mellon Library.

At school meeting on Wednesday, September 17, National Book Award finalist Julie Otsuka gave readings from her novel, When the Emperor Was Divine. The novel was this year's assigned summer reading for all students. The author's visit was sponsored by the English department.
