Spears Endowment
Our Programs

The Spears Endowment for Spiritual and Moral Education supports the Campus Ministry, the Community Service Program, the Character Education initiatives, and other programs, including a speakers series. We also provide support for faculty and staff development in areas related to our mission.
Our Mission
Since its founding in 1984, the mission of the Spears Endowment has been to foster spiritual and moral development within the school community. The Endowment was established by the Choate Rosemary Hall Board of Trustees in honor of fellow trustee William G. Spears '56 for his leadership in the school's successful capital campaign Endowment Plus. The Spears Endowment acts as a catalyst for fostering and nurturing a climate of personal and mutual respect, responsibility, and service. It supports a variety of religious traditions represented in our school with programs and activities that nurture the spirit, give expression to religious beliefs, and reflect commitment and compassion.
