James Irzyk
Director of Summer Programs

James Irzyk holds a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.B.A. from American International College. He joined the Choate faculty in 1988 as a mathematics teacher and became Director of Summer Programs in 1993. Irzyk was also head varsity football coach for 14 years and continues as head varsity softball coach during the school year.
Under his leadership Summer Programs has grown from three to eleven academic enrichment programs serving 500 students from 32 states and 31 countries. The programs vary in length from two, four and five weeks for students who have completed grades 5-12. In addition, over 100 students participate for five weeks in Sports Sense (a day sports camp).
