Whether you choose to support the school’s endowment or Annual Fund, gifts of any size significantly impact the school community and the educational experience of every Choate student.

Credit Card – Donate Online!
Choate accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We do not accept debit cards. Gifts via credit card may be made electronically by accessing our secure Online Giving form, or over the phone by calling 203-697-2389.
Check
Please make checks payable to Choate Rosemary Hall. If checks are not accompanying a letter or enclosed in a Choate return vehicle, we ask that you indicate in the memo line either the Annual Fund or the name of the endowed fund the gift is intended to benefit. Mail checks to:

Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Securities

To facilitate the transfer of stock gifts, complete and submit to your broker our Securities Transfer Instructions form.
Donors cannot be credited for “unclaimed” stock gifts, so be sure to request the submission of your name with all stock transfers to Choate.
Gifts of Tangible Personal Property (gifts-in-kind)
The acceptance of gifts-in-kind is made on a case-by-case basis, with the primary criteria the gift’s ability to further the mission of the school. The school is prohibited by law to appraise the value of gifts of tangible personal property in any form. For donations of personal property over $500, the donor must complete the appropriate IRS forms for tax deduction purposes; for property having a value of $5,000 or more, the donor must obtain a qualified, independent appraisal.

Mutual Funds
Please contact Choate’s Gifts and Securities Coordinator at 203-697-2387 or cpedrolini@choate.edu for assistance with appropriate letters of instruction to your mutual fund company.
Real Estate
Gifts of real estate may include developed property, undeveloped property, or gifts subject to a prior life interest. Real Estate may be given outright or through a bequest, or may be used to fund a charitable trust or other life income plans. Planned Gifts

Life Insurance
Choate Rosemary Hall must be named as both beneficiary and irrevocable owner of a policy for gifts of Life Insurance to the school. For additional information, please contact Ron Fleury at 203-697-2288 or rfleury@choate.edu.
Corporate Matching Gifts
You may be able to double, triple or quadruple the value of your gift to Choate if you are employed by one of the many companies, or their divisions, subsidiaries or affiliates, with matching gift programs. In fact, a great number of employers will match contributions of spouses, directors or retirees, as well as those of employees. Use our Matching Gifts search feature to see if your company will match your donation.
To make your contributions grow, simply obtain a matching gift form from your company's Matching Gift Coordinator (usually in the Human Resources or Community Relations department), fill it out and send it with your contribution.
