Understanding that a Choate Rosemary Hall education will have a transformative impact on a student's future, Choate is committed to building a community of talented, passionate, and driven students from a wide range of backgrounds independent of their financial circumstances.
By offering a robust financial aid program, Choate is able to attract the best possible students without regard to a family's ability to afford the cost of a Choate education. The Financial Aid Office strives to accurately assess financial need and to equitably distribute grants to those families who demonstrate such need.
We encourage any family who may need assistance to apply for financial aid. Choate’s financial aid budget for 2017-18 was $12.1 million, with awards to families ranging from $1,000 to full tuition.
For the 2017-18 school year, 33% of students at Choate receive need-based financial aid; the average award offsets 75% of tuition.

Tuition Refund Plan

All Choate students, regardless of whether they receive financial aid, are eligible to apply for support from the Beyond the Classroom Fund. The fund's purpose is to support a student’s full participation in the Choate experience.
To ease the financial burden of participation in distinct, valuable opportunities that are associated with, and enhance, the student's academic, athletic and extracurricular involvements, a student may apply to this fund to cover non-tuition associated costs.
At the discretion of the Dean of Students, the Fund may also be used to provide financial support to a student facing emergency circumstances.
