An operatic retelling of the ancient drama, but in the style of a British masque; sprinkled with unprecedented magic and mischief. Originally composed for a girls' school in 1689, the storyline investigates Virgil's female characters more fully and favorably, but does not save them from an ultimately tragic demise.
