GV Volleyball Delivers Second Straight NE Championship

The girls' varsity volleyball team came together at the right time as they made another deep playoff run for the 2017 season. The girls started their playoff run with a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart. The Wild Boars were led by their seniors and captains through out the playoffs. In the semi-finals the Boars faced a hungry Pelicans team looking to avenge their loss from earlier in the season, but Choate stood tall defeating Loomis, 3-1. The finals was certainly an instant classic as Exeter was able to hold up on the other side of the bracket and create the #1 and #2 seed match up for the final. Exeter certainly looked poised to defeat Choate early on taking the first set, but Choate answered in the second set to even things at one set a piece. Exeter responded with a big 25-16 win in the third set. Choate would not waver as they fought to the take the fourth set in a tightly contested back and forth, leaving the New England title up for grabs in a fifth and final set. Choate went up early and never relinquished the lead. Exeter fought back to put pressure on the Wild Boars, but Choate was able to close, ensuring their second straight title. Congratulations to the girls' varsity volleyball team on their second title in as many years!
