In the 2018-19 academic year there will be two, sixth-month re-inspections of buildings on campus that have, or are presumed to have, asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM).
These re-inspections will be conducted in accordance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), and the State of Connecticut regulations, which require a re-inspection of ACBM every six months.
The full Asbestos Management Plan, including an inventory of asbestos-containing materials at Choate Rosemary Hall, is available for your inspection at the Facilities Services Office. In addition, copies are available upon request for a fee. Steven Cahoon, Manager of Energy Management Systems, is the AHERA-Designated Persons responsible for directing the program.
