On September 30, 2020, boarding students began returning to campus for the first time since March. Bags packed and masks on, students were carefully welcomed back to their dorms to begin quarantine with their respective family units. Smiling eyes and appropriately distanced welcomes peppered campus as students safely unpacked for an academic year ahead.
Prior to their campus arrival, all students completed a mandatory educational training. Additionally, students were mailed a testing kit to prove negative test results, or completed a rapid screening test upon arrival at registration. Each Choate community member will complete a daily symptom check in addition to weekly testing.
Students will continue to learn online, keeping campus safe, until quarantine has ended. At that time, day students are welcomed back to campus, post-quarantine dining locations are assigned, and classrooms will open with a hybrid approach using Virtual Student.
The School's robust and thoughtful reopening plan continues to prioritize the safety of our community and those around us.
To ensure the health and safety of our community, campus remains closed to visitors.
