Scott Romeyn '18 is the New England champion in both sprint events, both 50 Free and 100 Free. Romeyn set a New England record in the 50 Free. On the girls' side, Sam Scott '20 was second in the 100 Free and fourth in the 50 Free. Zoe Tray '21 was third in the 100 Breaststroke. Additionally, the girls' 200 medley relay placed second as well.
Overall the girls were 4th (of 12) and the boys were 6th (of 11).
Scott Romeyn was also honored with the Wilmer Babcock Award. New England Swimming presents the Wilmer Babcock (to a boy) and Grace Robertson (to a girl) awards at the conclusion of the NE championship meet. The winner is selected by voting of all of the programs at the meet. This is a prestigious award and was most recently won for Choate by Caroline Wilson in 2009 and David Guernsey in 2004. The awards recognize not only excellence in swimming, but also values personal character, sportsmanship, and contribution to the league. Congratulations to Scott on this accomplishment.
