Congratulations to the boys' varsity basketball team for their Class A New England title.
The boys' were the #5 seed headed into the tournament. Their quarterfinal game against Suffield was a rematch from the regular season, in which the boys' lost 49-63. The boys' went in with great confidence given their success over the course of the season. They were able to pull out a close 51-50 victory to pull off the upset on the road. #8 Tabor knocked off the top seed in their own upset alert, which meant Choate got to host the second round game on Saturday. Tabor proved to be a strong opponent keeping the game close, but Choate was able to prevail with a 62-52 win, earning a spot in the final on Sunday. The final was held at Rhode Island college and a worthy opponent in Milton would be the test for the Wild Boars. The final was everything a final should be, action packed and drama down the stretch. Milton missed a last second shot to tie the game and Choate was able to claim their first New England Class A title in a hand full of years. Congratulations to the boys on their accomplishment!
