On October 6 and 7, Choate Rosemary Hall partnered with the Town of Wallingford in Celebrate Wallingford, a two-day event that introduces townspeople to the many organizations that help the community thrive.
Choate was also a sponsor of the Walk Strong to LiveSTRONG, a 1-mile walk, and the Fishbein/YMCA Road Race, proceeds of which support a program for cancer survivors at the Wallingford Family YMCA.
The Choate tent featured a Wizard of Oz photo backdrop with paper prop character cut outs to get the community excited about the upcoming student production of "The Wizard of Oz" on November 2-4. Raffles included: Paul Mellon Arts Center Tickets (10-Pack), Choate Fan Gear Baskets, and a $500 Voucher for Choate Summer Programs.
Sara Gurevitch '19, founder of the clothing brand Jabali Wali, was eager to give back to the school community using her core interests of business, design, and philanthropy. Jabali is Spanish for wild boar, and Walli is a nod to the Town of Wallingford, home to Choate. All profits from the sales of Jubali Walli items support financial assistance for students at Choate Rosemary Hall.
