On Saturday, March 24, a group of 42 Choate students and four faculty chaperones traveled to New York City to attend the March For Our Lives. The main march took place in Washington D.C., but the simultaneous NYC march was also a significant satellite event. Our students joined the more than 175,000 protestors lending their voices in support of stronger gun control measures. Sir Paul McCartney joined the masses in the March For Our Lives in support of Beatles bandmate, the late John Lennon. Some of our students caught up with the musician and marched alongside.
Says Sam Kaplan '19, "The March was the first time I had participated in something of that nature, and the experience I had with all the supporters of the movement will stick with me forever and encourage me to continue to express my ideas. The speakers at the rally shared their moving stories and ideas which helped inspire me for the march and the long road ahead."
