On Saturday, December 8, Mustafe Dahir '19 competed in the 40th annual Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Mustafe is the first Choate Rosemary Hall runner to qualify for nationals in 16 years.
The journey to San Diego began on November 24 at the New York Regional meet of the Footlocker XC national semi-final event, where Mustafe placed 9th with a time of 15:39.10 earning him a spot to compete at Nationals.
Mustafe ran a great race this past Saturday, crossing the finish line at 16:18.30 in 30th place. This race caps off a great year for the 6th form athlete. He received 2018 All-NEPSAC honors, placed 4th in this year's NEPSTA Championships, and 2nd in the 2018 Founders' League Championships. Mustafe also holds the School record on the Choate course, which he set in 2017.
