NYATC Virtual Spring Conference A Success

On Saturday, April 18, 2020 Choate Rosemary Hall hosted the New York Arabic Teachers' Council (NYATC) Spring Conference virtually via Zoom. Over 100 participants from 4 countries and 19 different states logged in to network, collaborate, and share innovative approaches to teaching. NYATC emphasizes the goal of strengthening and professionalizing the field of Arabic language education by helping teachers support other teachers and their communities. The Council is made possible by the generous support of Qatar Foundation International.

The spring conference theme was "Zoom In: Close Up: Close Out: Teaching Arabic Through Film". Participants included educators from kindergarten through higher education as well as participants representing a variety of other organizations. Featured presenters were Maha Houssami from Duke University and Caroline Robinson from Arabic Immersion School in Houston, TX.

Thanks to the Qatar Foundation International, official sponsor of Choate-NYATC, Choate is able to offer NYATC members a platform to collaborate and strengthen their communities.
