WSO Wallingford Pops Concert - July 3

The annual Wallingford Symphony Orchestra's Pops Concert will be held on Saturday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m. on the Paul Mellon Arts Center Lawn. Admission is free.

In observance of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, "If music be the food of love, play on," selections will include:

  • Overture to "The Merry Wives of Windsor" Otto Nicolai
  • Fantasia on "Greensleeves" Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • "Midsummmer Night's Drea " Felix Mendelssohn
  • "Scherzo" introducing Puck
  • "Wedding March"
  • "Who is Sylvia" Franz Schubert
  • "Romeo and Juliette" Hector Berlioz
  • "Festivities" at Capulets
  • "West Side Story" Leonard Bernstein
  • "Maria," "Tonight," "One hand, one heart," "I feel pretty"
  • "Boys from Syracuse" Rodgers and Hart "This can't be love"
  • "Kiss me Kate" Cole Porter
  • "Brush up your Shakespeare"

As well as selections celebrating America's Independence Day:

  • Selections by Leroy Anderson, John Williams, John Philip Sousa
  • 1812 Overture
  • Salute to George M. Cohan
