Cheryl Madden To Be Honored by Wallingford YMCA

Choate Rosemary Hall Parent and Community Relations Manager Cheryl Madden is the 2026 recipient of the Wallingford Family YMCA Salute to Volunteers Award. Presented annually, the award celebrates Cheryl's service to Choate Rosemary Hall, the Wallingford community, the YMCA, and its partners.

Since joining the YMCA Board of Directors in 2023, Cheryl has displayed a deep commitment to the organization's core focus areas: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Through her leadership and service, the YMCA has secured computer and IT donations to enhance operations and has maintained a community indoor walking track partnership with Choate. She has also played an integral role in the YMCA's Just Add Water Transformational Aquatics Center Project and helped plan the annual Gilded Gala, which raises much-needed funds for the YMCA's programs and services.

"Cheryl has been a steady, thoughtful, and dependable voice, offering her time, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our vision," Wallingford Family YMCA Executive Director and CEO Sean Doherty wrote. "Her generosity, leadership, and passion for serving others embody the very best of volunteerism."

Cheryl will receive the 2026 Salute to Volunteers Award on September 30, 2026, at the Connecticut YMCA Leaders Dinner.
