Patrick Durbin Honored By United Way

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, Choate Rosemary Hall Chief Financial Officer Patrick Durbin received the 2026 Richard M. Muñiz Community Spirit Award at the 2026-2027 Community Campaign & Award Celebration.

As a member of the organization's board of directors, Patrick has championed United Way of Meriden and Wallingford's work in the local community through initiatives such as the Pickleball Palooza Tournament and the 2026 United Way NFL Players' Weekend. In addition to supporting the organization's events, he helped the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford find a contractor to repair flood damage to its office.

Choate Rosemary Hall and United Way have displayed a shared commitment to enhancing community well-being and fostering a spirit of collaboration. Through their combined efforts, they have made significant strides in addressing local challenges and supporting those in need. Last September, the United Way honored the School as its Community Partner of the Year for hosting and supporting various impactful community-centric initiatives and programs, including the aforementioned Pickleball Palooza Tournament, indoor walking programs, public skating events, adaptive swim programs with Social Sabby, and the YMCA Learning Community.

“Like the United Way, we strive to enhance, expand, and scaffold services so that no single organization stands alone," Choate Rosemary Hall Chief Communications Officer Alison Cady said last September. "We are honored to be part of the nonprofit network that makes Wallingford vibrant.”

Service will continue to be at the forefront for both Choate and the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford. This past week, the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford held its Annual Day of Caring on September 16 and plans to host its annual Pickleball Palooza Tournament in November. And on campus, Choate is preparing for its 2026 Community Service Day on Friday, October 2.
