Introduction to Theatrical Design

This course introduces students to the basic vocabulary, visuals, principles, and practices of design as they apply to theater. The course broadens student scope and understanding of theater and helps them to discover the practicals and aesthetics of Design. Students learn the basic techniques of script analysis, period research, and conceptual style. Theatrical terminology and techniques of drawing, drafting, and model-making are introduced.

Each student develops a fully conceptualized design of a play as a final project.
