Focusing on recent developments in psychology and self-understanding, this course covers several theories of personality, neuroscience, and human behavior. A developmental approach to various psychological theories (e.g. those of Freud, Horney, Skinner, Erikson, and Rogers) creates a framework for the study of identity and self-image, family and peer relationships, and conformity and prejudice.
Note: Open to students who will have completed the U.S. equivalent of grades 9, 10, or 11 by the start of Summer Programs. Students who successfully complete this course will have fulfilled the prerequisite for Choate’s upper-level psychology courses.
