This course exposes students to advanced topics in Algebra II and is designed to enrich and deepen appreciation of Algebra II concepts. Students start by reviewing the different families of functions and their properties under various transformations. Following this, students explore techniques for solving quadratic polynomials using factoring methods, the quadratic equation, and synthetic division, among others. Time permitting, students also explore the concepts of sequences, series, and techniques for solving systems of linear equations, as well as conic sections and their applications. Although Algebra II is not required, it is strongly encouraged that students have some exposure to the concepts covered in an Algebra II curriculum.
Prerequisite: Algebra I required; Algebra II recommended.
