Introduction to Algebra I

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the concepts covered in an Algebra I class. Students are introduced to the idea of a variable in mathematics and its use in problem solving. Specific topics include understanding and interpreting rates of change, graphing linear functions, and solving linear equations. Throughout the course, students work to strengthen their mastery of skills necessary for success in future algebra classes.

Prerequisite: Arithmetic skills such as order of operation and manipulation of negative numbers.
