Beginner Robotics

Beginner Robotics focuses on the basics of programming and CAD design. Students learn about the logic of coding and the essentials of building and designing a robust robot. They accomplish this task by using a text-based language to write and program their virtual robots.

Students learn the basics of programming and work with the following sensor devices: push-button, ultrasonic, rotation encoder, and color sensors. No prior experience is needed. Students learn the basic principles and concepts of engineering and robotics using Choate’s remote learning virtual platform, Robot Mesh Studio.

Note: A laptop or desktop computer (Mac/Windows not a Chromebook) is required. We recommend the computer is no older than four years. Matriculating and current Choate students who complete this course may utilize the experience as a supplementary prerequisite in applying to Choate’s Advanced Robotics Signature Program.

Applying to the program does not guarantee admission.
