The Choate Way is our commitment to putting students at the center of their high school experience. Across academics, residential life, advising, and the daily schedule, we make intentional choices that help students challenge themselves, build independence, and thrive in a supportive boarding school community.
A Schedule Designed Around Students
At Choate, our schedule is intentionally designed to balance rigorous academics with rest, reflection, relationships, and personal interests.
We Teach You How to Think
Choate students learn to question, analyze, communicate, create, and solve problems. Through discussion, experimentation, collaboration, and thoughtful use of technology, our teachers prepare students to become adaptable and independent thinkers.
An Education You Can Make Your Own
A Choate education offers both breadth and choice. Beginning in ninth grade, students can pursue their interests through electives, signature programs, and academic opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and ownership of learning.
A School That Feels Like Home
At Choate, students have the freedom to grow and gain independence within a residential community intentionally designed to provide connection, guidance, and support.
People Who Know and Support You
At Choate, support is personal. Advisers, deans, teachers, coaches, dorm adults, and student leaders work together to know students well and help them navigate both challenges and opportunities.

The Choate Way is not one program or policy. It is the collective result of hundreds of intentional choices designed to help students learn deeply, live fully, and grow into confident, capable, independent people.
At Choate Rosemary Hall, those choices come together to create a student-centered experience that is challenging, supportive, and distinctly Choate.
